“The Foundation serves as an incubator for pediatricians to take their ideas for improving the health of Tennessee ‘s children from concept to reality. The infrastructure of the Foundation makes logistics easy: with grant-writing assistance, accounting, and the opportunity to serve as a fiscal agent if needed. The only physician requirement is that the individual come up with a solution to a problem they see every day.”

During our Health In Progress (HIP) - Middle School Walk/Run Program, an exercise initiative developed by a TNAAP pediatrician through the Foundation, one student did not have appropriate shoes needed to participate because her parents could not afford to buy them. The Foundation arranged for a local store to donate a nice pair of running shoes to the child. Imagine the look on her face when she saw them!
“Having a pediatrician you can trust is important to me — as it is for any mother. My two children have seen their pediatrician for 16 years. She always puts me at ease as I know she provides the best care possible and takes time to talk with me about any concerns I might have. To me, when it comes to the care for my children, there’s no better person than my pediatrician.”
